About Me
This year will mark my 12th year teaching 5th Grade Language Arts and Social Studies at Campus School. Before Campus, I taught with Memphis City Schools for 6 years. I have been married for 25 years to Daniel, an investigator with the Memphis Police Department. We have a remarkable daughter, Charlie, who just graduated Germantown High as their salutatorian and will be a freshman at the U of M this year!
My favorite things in life besides my family and career are movies, cartoons, books, and walking. I consider myself a full-time geek and have the Empire Strikes Back lunchbox, Captain America shield, and miniature Hogwarts to prove it. I have seen more than 1,200 movies at the theater and I read between 40-60 books a year! I also LOVE the theatre and see every musical I can.
I consider myself a very passionate teacher who imparts the love of history and reading in my lessons. I love that Campus School supports my individual style while also giving me the tools to teach in a research-based way. I am currently working on my doctorate in Social Studies curriculum.
